Spanish generals warn Russian nuclear threat is real

Generals ask to reduce tension in the conflict in Ukraine and defend that Russia will be preparing a “legal cushion” to act with “nuclear strategy”.

Five Spanish military experts warned at a seminar organized by infodron.es and UNVEX about the “real nuclear threat” that Russia could resort to as it is increasingly distant from achieving its objectives.

For these reasons, the generals defend that tensions in the conflict in Ukraine should be reduced and a way to peace should be found. “There is a latent danger of nuclear escalation”, warns Lieutenant General Rubén García Servet, indicating that one must “work first to try to reach an agreement that is as protective as possible of Ukrainian territorial integrity”.

Gan Pampols indicated that “this is the best time to find a solution where one loses as little as possible and the other gains a story”.

It is recalled that Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 and the military offensive has already killed more than 4,000 civilians, according to the United Nations (UN). However, the organization warns that the real number of victims could be much higher, given the difficulties in counting civilian casualties in territories controlled or besieged by the Russians.
