NATO warns that attacks on gas pipelines will have a “determined” response
NATO member countries today expressed deep concern about the damage to the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea and warned that "any deliberate attack against critical Allied infrastructure" will merit a "united and determined response".
In a statement released in Brussels, the North Atlantic Council, the main political decision-making body of the NATO organization, begins by pointing out that "the damage caused to the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines in international waters in the Baltic Sea is a matter of deep concern " and underline that "all the information currently available indicates that they are the result of deliberate, reckless and irresponsible acts of sabotage".
